If you haven't seen the movie In-Bruge, you really should, great film. We happen to be "In Bruge" right now and watched the movie, downloaded from someone's Internet that they left un-password-protected. We are parked alongside a beautiful canal right outside
the city walls. In case you were wondering this is Bruge Belgium, and Belgium is right above France, across from England. I still have to look at the map to figure out where we are. Tonight we go out to dinner and then tomorrow we cross the English channel, just days from dropping off the truck. I have this sense of possession for Shachagra not felt before and I'm drawing plans for improvements and finishing touches when we get back.
I can admit that I love the truck and wouldn't sell her for .... OK I would but it would take lots of cash. I actually dread the travel that we have living out of suitcases. We have seen so much that the reward for the effort needs to be pretty high.
The children are very excited about school and social exchange outside the family. Grace can hardly contain herself. We are relaxing now, using the Internet. I will take a bath, then out for chow, bed and onward.
We did see some cool stuff today. I have heard of canal barge captains that live onboard their barge, with family and haul cargo around Europe. We have seen some boats passing that will haul 15 40 foot shipping containers, children playing on the deck, Mom driving the barge, while Dad is out back polishing the Audi stored in the back! I would love to hear an account of their life.
Love Doug
